Over the past decade, Statistics.com has collaborated with Thomas Edison State University (TESU) to empower adult learners through online bachelor’s and master’s degrees in data science. Through innovative technology and pedagogy, we’ve overcome geographical barriers, enabling accessible, high-quality education.
The Challenge
With the rising demand for skilled professionals in data science, TESU recognized the need to offer flexible, accessible degree programs tailored to adult learners. However, traditional educational models posed significant barriers, particularly for working professionals and nontraditional students seeking higher education.
The Solution
In collaboration with TESU, Statistics.com developed fully virtual, accredited bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in data science. Leveraging industry and pedagogical expertise, we designed immersive online courses that provide flexibility without compromising on quality. The courses go beyond traditional curricula to include practical examples and content.
Our approach prioritized interactive learning experiences, enabling students to engage with course materials, collaborate with peers, and receive personalized support from instructors. We also believe in enabling students to use what they have learned immediately in new roles, so we incorporated practical and industry-based content and examples. Through this innovative partnership, we aimed to democratize education, making it accessible to a diverse range of adult learners.
By offering remote access to resources and a supportive online community, we sought to break down barriers to higher education and empower students to achieve their academic and career aspirations.
